I remember this! My parents took me to see them speak by the library.

I remember that day well. The Blue Route had been open for only 6 months. Prior to that, motorcades would have to use Rt 420. We happened to be driving on 420 at that time, and there were quite a few folks in Morton and Prospect Park waiting for the motorcade to pass, unaware that the president and First Lady were already in Springfield via the Blue Route.

It’s probably the same day she stopped in Haverford Community Hospital.

I remember Gregg Larish taking a ton of photos of this! He was so happy.
