On Wednesday March 24 at 1223am Springfield Fire Company received a call for a kitchen fire in the 400 block of North Rolling Road in Springfield Township. Tower 44 (Springfield) was returning from covering Llanarch Fire Company while they fought a house fire in their township. Also alerted was Manoa (Engine 56), Rose Tree (Quint 73), Broomall (Rescue 53) and Media (Rapid Intervention Team 23). Assistant 44 arrived and reported smoke showing with a female trapped inside. Tower 44 and Engine 56 arrived at the same time and with a cooperative effort forced open the front door and located the female by the door. She was removed from the home and turned over to Springfield Ambulance and Crozer Keystone Paramedics. The fire was quickly extinguished and crews were on scene for about an hour. Collingdale (Engine 33) and Clifton Heights (Quint 3) provided protection to the township. The fire company thanks all of our mutual aid companies for their assistance.
